Mechanics note 01

The screen is a presentation of the result.

Reels, rows and symbols are the visible layer. The underlying game system generates an outcome and maps it into that display according to the game’s rules.

Abstract flow from random values through game rules to a displayed reel

Three layers to separate

  1. Outcome generation

In a regulated random game, a random-number process supplies the underlying result. Standards and testing apply within a specific jurisdiction; do not assume every unverified game meets the same regime.

  2. Game mapping

The game’s mathematics maps the result to symbol positions, prizes and any feature state. Virtual reel structures can differ from the visible window.

  3. Screen presentation

The stopped reels show the outcome in a human-readable form. Animation does not by itself explain probability or prize value.

What the layout tells you

Reel count
The number of displayed vertical columns.
Row count
The visible positions on each reel after a spin.
Symbol set
The icons the game can display. Their value and behaviour come from the paytable.
Feature state
A game-defined mode or event. Its trigger, duration and awards are not universal.
Do not infer rules from artwork.

A crown, star or special colour has no standard meaning. Check the current paytable for the exact game.
